Fat Cat

The Thirsty Hippo was a much-beloved dive bar staple for many generations of Hattiesburg, Mississippi's residents (myself included). When news broke that the owners were planning to close up shop, several like-minded individuals got together to buy the bar and keep it going. While they couldn't use the original name, they wanted a brand identity that matched the space they hoped to create and honored the legacy of its location—something a little funny, without pretension, and welcoming to everyone. FAT CAT was born.
